The growing tensions between the US and Russia and between the US and China have strengthened the alliance between these two Superpowers into a force the US cannot defeat... with or without NATO. It would be an unwindable war and should be avoided at all cost.
Still, the conflicts in Syria and Afghanistan, the growing anti American sentiment around the world, along with potential global economic collapse has the world's 3 largest nuclear powers preparing for WWIII.
I have posted a few videos below that may help you understand the seriousness of the situation. There are many more videos about potential war between these 3 nations available on YouTube.

The video below is a warning from the hacker collective known as Anonymous. If only the world's leaders could show this kind of intelligence, common sense and compassion...
If you want to start a war, the unwashed masses must be convinced to send their brothers, sons and fathers to die on the front lines. The specter of an external enemy must be etched into their collective mind through trauma, exaggeration and repetition. History must be whitewashed, twisted and cherry picked down to a politicized nursery rhyme. At no point should the real motives or consequences of such an endeavor be discussed. It stands to reason that if we want to STOP a war we must reverse this pattern.
